Design,
marketing, and something truly different..
I’ve
worked as a designer since I graduated from college with my degree
in multimedia. In that time I’ve done a wide range of things,
ranging from working as a graphic designer at an ad agency, to being
the art director for a billboard company.
Currently I’m working as the senior designer
at Carle Clinic Association and doing freelance design and marketing
consulting as well.
Want to see my credentials? Check out my business card
/ artistic license to the left. See, all this killer design is entirely
legal.
Below
are samples of design work and advertising campaigns I've created
for various clients. |
The Prairie Ensemble
Freelance:
Dan Wild, Illustrator
I
created the campaign and print pieces for The
Prairie Ensemble's 05-06 season. It's the "10th Season,
Celebrate with us!" We printed a brochure and poster introducing
the theme, and posters and postcards for the concerts using images
associated with a parties, celebrations, and the Roman #10. |

Hip
Hop label / Upanotchrecords
Art director, Adams Outdoor Advertising
Here's a campaign that I created, designed and art directed
for a local Hip Hop label"Upanotchrecords." It was a
campaign in three parts and involved 11 billboards that we posted,
and then reposted using billboards that we had vandalized inhouse
with the help of some University of Illinois art students, and
a local artists.
Upanotchrecords
received all sorts of local media attention, writeups in the local
paper, and a ton of web discussion on blogs and media sites. Do
a quick Google web search of "hip hop rots your brain."
or "Upanotchrecords." and read some of the dialogue.
It was a lot
of fun and the label got a lot of attention!
|
 |
It
was a "teaser" campaign in three parts.
Week
1: We posted the provocative comment that "Hip Hop
Rots Your Brain." and waited for the community to respond.
Week2: We posted vandalized versions of the boards
that me and some local art students had spray painted.
Week 3: We posted up a large red square that stated that
the label was having a show at an area club, with date and time
information.

| Espresso
Royale
Art
director, Adams Outdoor Advertising
My
goal with Espresso Royale was to create an edgy and funny campaign
that would appeal to the incoming U of I students in the C-U area.
When this design went up a local radio show had people calling
in for over an hour. Reactions were mixed, the town was talking,
and the
client ended up doing three billboard campaigns and creating t-shirts
using this art.

El
Toro Mexican Restaurant
Art
director, Adams Outdoor Advertising
I
love El Toro, and ended up winning a advertising award for this
campaign. El Toro also used a few of my alternative tag lines
and my personal favorite. "FREE GAS with every meal."
